GLYX Archive 0.4.3 · build 13

Watch the Mac download and first-launch chapters →. The guide uses an earlier recorded interface; the current compatibility and security information below takes priority.

Direct download for Apple Silicon Macs, with a matching free Recovery app.

This guide covers the direct BBF download available from your GLYX account. We are preparing a separate Mac App Store edition; follow our Mac release progress. The compatibility and signing information below applies to this exact download.

Requires macOS 26.0 or later and an arm64 Mac. This release was checked on macOS 26.3.1(a), build 25D771280a. A separate clean physical Mac and other OS versions have not been verified. Windows and iPhone downloads are not included in this package.

Before opening

The apps are ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarised; they have no Developer ID signature. macOS may warn about or block first launch. Review the publisher and checksum before choosing whether to open it using normal macOS approval. Do not disable Gatekeeper, remove quarantine or bypass integrity checks. A managed Mac may require its administrator’s approval. Apple’s opening-app guidance.

The download

Filename: GLYX-0.4.3-macOS-arm64.zip
Size: 60,817,740 bytes
SHA-256: 497b14bbf26661e2c628abe6aaa83b0347d63e156639ce006fef6181b351d41c

A checksum identifies these exact download bytes; it does not establish Apple notarisation.

How to check this download on your Mac

Open Terminal from Applications → Utilities. Type shasum -a 256 (including the space), drag the downloaded GLYX-0.4.3-macOS-arm64.zip from Finder into Terminal, then press Return. This reads the ZIP and prints its SHA-256 followed by its filename; it does not install or run GLYX.

Compare all 64 characters with the SHA-256 above. If every character matches, the bytes match this published release. If they differ, do not open or install that ZIP. Download it again through your GLYX account; if it still differs, contact BBF support with the filename and reported checksum. Never disable macOS security checks to resolve a mismatch.

Start with copied files

  1. Download from the GLYX account page, extract the ZIP and keep Archive and Recovery together with the read-me.
  2. Open Archive, connect your account, verify your email, review the trial terms and approve only the complete device fingerprint matching the app.
  3. Use New archive for ordinary files. Open archive selects an existing .glyxsecure or compatible legacy .glyxpack archive.
  4. Keep originals and independent backups. Add files to the same archive to reuse compatible structure. Per-import safety and local free-space limits remain enforced; the 100 GB cumulative allowance is not a tested capacity or compression guarantee.
  5. Save a protected recovery-key backup separately. Use the matching Recovery app and recover into a new folder; check your recovered files before relying on an archive.

Compatible recovery remains free and offline after writing access ends. Legacy unencrypted archives stay unencrypted when opened. Resetting an account password cannot replace a lost archive key.

Optional paid access

The same download supports the separate £4.99 monthly plan for one approved Mac. Install this build before refreshing paid access. Paid writing has no cumulative input allowance and uses signed permissions refreshed online at least every ten minutes; local disk, catalogue and import limits still apply. Your free trial never converts automatically. Read the monthly plan terms.

Your free trial

Seven days from device activation; one Mac; 100,000,000,000 original bytes successfully imported cumulatively. No payment card, automatic subscription or automatic charge. Archives and recovery keys remain local; common-hub sharing is off.

Using GLYX with confidence

GLYX Recovery and your key

Keep the matching GLYX Recovery application supplied with GLYX Archive. The shipped names are GLYX Archive 0.4.3, build 13 and GLYX Recovery 0.4.3, build 12. Recovery retains an older internal Reader identifier; that does not mean a third application is supplied. Its role is to read a compatible archive and restore its files. A legacy archive may need its compatible legacy reader. The current encrypted archive needs its matching recovery key; your account password is different, and resetting it does not replace that key.

If your approved Mac is lost, replaced or repaired

Writing access is for one approved Mac. If GLYX says another Mac is already approved, check that you signed in to the account you used on the original Mac. Changing Macs does not start a new trial. If you pay monthly, check your existing subscription in Link purchases or your transaction email before making another purchase.

Contact GLYX support with the error you see and say whether the original Mac is still available. If you lost it or cannot start it, say so. Support can check what is possible for your account; do not assume approval transfers automatically. Never send a password, device-approval code or recovery key.

Keep independent backups of your archives, their matching keys and the compatible GLYX Recovery app. Compatible offline recovery is separate from approval to write on a new Mac. Signing in on a replacement does not retrieve files stored only on the old Mac.

Stopping a free trial

No payment card or automatic charge is attached to the ordinary seven-day trial. Stop adding files when you choose. Keep your archive, matching recovery application and key for compatible free offline recovery. Read the free-trial stopping notice →

Cancel a paid subscription

Manage the separate monthly subscription through Link purchases or the management link in your transaction email. If you cannot find it, contact hello@beyondbruteforce.com. The BBF Customer Portal is not enabled. Read the current paid cancellation and refund terms →

Online writing, offline recovery

The optional £4.99 monthly plan covers one supported Mac. Continued writing needs an online permission refresh at least every ten minutes. Compatible archive recovery stays free and offline with the matching GLYX Recovery app and archive key.

A trial allowance is not a single-file limit

The 100 GB allowance counts the original bytes successfully added during the trial. It is not a promise that one 100 GB file or import will fit. The current package accepts at most 5,000,000,000 original input bytes (5 GB decimal) in one import batch, shared across all files in that batch. Its internal archive safety bound is 21,474,836,480 bytes (20 GiB); this is not a per-file or usable-capacity promise. Import, catalogue and available working-space checks still apply. Keep room for the archive, temporary working files and a separate recovery destination. Begin with small copied files, read any app refusal or space message before retrying, and contact support before relying on a very large import. Keep independent originals and backups.

No exact advance working-space estimate is published for this release. The app validates the selected batch and may refuse an operation that cannot proceed within its limits. The 5 GB import-batch limit is separate from the trial’s 100 GB cumulative allowance. Catalogue limit: the catalogue is the archive’s cumulative index of stored filenames, file sizes, content hashes and recovery records across imports. The current reader accepts a catalogue file of at most 16 MiB (16,777,216 bytes); this is a metadata-size limit, not a fresh allowance of 1,000 files each time you add to an archive. The separate 1,000-file limit applies to one import batch. The catalogue grows as you retain more entries, even when their file content reuses existing structure. Other archive and encrypted-manifest bounds may be reached first; this is not a guaranteed total file count. If GLYX refuses a growing archive, retain it and your originals and ask support before retrying. Allow working space for the archive, temporary processing and any recovered destination; the internal ceiling is not a promise of usable archive capacity.

Files you can add

Add regular files, including documents, images, audio, video and existing ZIP files. GLYX stores the selected file contents; you do not need to unpack a ZIP first. The file type alone does not guarantee a saving: reuse depends on the contents already represented in the archive.

The current download accepts 1–1,000 regular files in one import, with at most 5,000,000,000 original input bytes (5 GB decimal) across that batch. The seven-day trial also has its separate 100 GB cumulative original-input allowance.

Within one import, filenames must be distinct when compared without case and after Unicode NFC normalisation. Symbolic links, special files, the app’s own source and files inside the selected archive output are not import sources. Select individual regular files rather than expecting a folder tree to be imported.

This release restores stored filenames and exact file contents. It does not recreate original folder trees, file permissions, timestamps or extended attributes. Keep any separate metadata you need. The .glyxsecure and .glyxpack names describe archive containers, rather than a list of source-file extensions.
